"Energy efficiency" and "Environment " - priority areas of competitiion "Together in the future" in 2014
January 8, 2014 began receiving mini- projects at the regional competition of local communities "Together into the Future", which identified priority areas of "Energy " and " Environment ".
According to the plan of the competition , endorsed by the Competition Committee , the registration of the project will last until March 7 , 2014.
To March 31 submitted proposals to be considered.
By April 7, 2014 results will be released . Implementation of the winning projects will take place from May to November.

Science and local authorities join forces
Recently in the V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University held "round table", the main theme of which was to discuss the draft program of international cooperation and investment activity in the Kharkiv region in 2014-2016.
A significant and important event in the round table was the signing of the agreement on partnership activities in the development of international projects between the head of the Kharkiv Regional Council, Michael Tretiak and rector of V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, Vil Bkirov.
This agreement will contribute to the socio-economic Development District, as the Kharkiv regional council will get real help in the preparation of international projects of drawing new investment for the development of the area and its sustainable prosperity.

Presentation of the Regional Centre of International Projects and Programs
Presentation of the Regional Centre of International Projects and programs held in Karazinsky University. The event was held with the participation of university scientists , representatives of Kharkiv Regional Council and the Kharkiv Regional State Administration.
The main goal of the new center is to promote international and inter-regional cooperation of the Kharkiv region in international projects and programs. It is the interface between territorial communities of the region , scientists Karazinsky university and international funds and programs working in the field of international technical assistance. The center was created to bring together the efforts of scientists and representatives of local administrations and local authorities to develop new projects, transfer to the community of sophisticated technology, the joint fund-raising for the implementation of partnership projects.

A year ago, the Institute for Sustainable Development, in cooperation with the regional center for international projects and programs, opened the first PV power station "Karazinsky", which already produced about 0.5 MW of electricity. Energy poverty - severe, but curable, illness of the Kharkiv

Socio-economic problem of "energy poverty" as seen from the study of inter-parliamentary Group Ukraine-EU "Energy Security: Challenges of the Millennium", every year more and more peculiar to Ukraine and, in particular, the Kharkiv region.
Thus, in 2011, this issue is covered by almost 1/3 population of the city of Kharkiv and Kharkiv region. The term "energy poverty" is generally understood the failure of people to pay cost of energy utilities, which are related to energy supply.

Meeting of Ukrainian-German working group for the project "Energy Efficient Cities"
Following the decision of the Ukrainian-German High Level Group on Economic Cooperation (hereinafter referred to GHL), the sixth meeting which was held 13.12.11r. in Kiev, at the initiative of the German partners and UNF, under the GHL established two Ukrainian-German working group on the basis of the Ministry of Regional Development, Construction and Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine (hereinafter - Minrehion), namely: "Energy efficient city" and on water management.

Abuse in the coal industry held by lease and concession schemes - Head of Trade Union
April 2, 2012 in Chervonograd roundtable "Transparency of financial flows in the coal mining sector and the problems of restructuring the coal industry in Ukraine", organized by the Institute ofr Sustainable Development (Kharkiv), Western media center "New Journalism" (Lviv), together with Chervonohrad City Council.
Director of Institute of Sustainable Development Stanislav Ignatiev acquainted participants with the results of the project "Transparency of financial flows in the coal mining sector in Ukraine", which was implemented by the organization with the support of International Renaissance Fundation. The project aims to create effective mechanisms to increase transparency of financial flows in the mining sector in Ukraine, using the tools to ensure transparency of extractive industries (EITI).
According to the survey, extraction, transportation and sale of coal is the most opaque areas of mining industry in Ukraine.

How transparent are financial flows coal sector of Ukraine and Donetsk?
In the national budget gets 31 million from coal and 24 million from coke production, which is almost 19% of the revenue budget. Because the value of this sector for the Ukrainian economy is very important, the experts of the Institute of Sustainable Development reviewed the financial elements of the national program "Ukrainian Coal".
They also tried to verify the payment of the coal sector and revenues to state and local budgets. All this was conducted to determine how transparent the financial flows of coal mining sector. What are the results showed the study?

Ukraine, Kazakhstan: expert meeting EITI in the coal industry
February 12 Institute for Sustainable Development initiated a meeting of experts in the coal EITI Gala with Ukraine and Kazakhstan. Expert meeting was held within the project "Transparency of financial flows in the coal mining sector in Ukraine" with the support of the "Civil Society and Good Governance" International Fund "Renaissance."
During the meeting, experts discussed the question of the process of declaring profits coal mines in Ukraine and Kazakhstan. Another item on the meeting was to discuss the desire to ensure transparency in the mining and selling coal Kazakh and Ukrainian companies.

Experts oppose "energy poverty" in Kharkiv
February 2, 2012 in Academic Hall of Kharkiv Karazin University held an expert round table "Ways of solving the problem of energy poverty in the Kharkiv region." The event was held under the "Involvement of analytical capacity of the public to the problem of" energy poverty "in the Kharkiv region," realized NGO "Institute for Sustainable Development", supported by the International Renaissance Fundation.

Finance of Ukrainian coal from the point of transparency
Experts of project "Transparency of financial flows in the coal mining sector in Ukraine" financial analysis components of the national program "Ukrainian Coal", implemented by the Ministry of Energy and Mines, and tried to verify the payment of the coal sector and revenues to state and local budgets.

The study of wind energy potential: WSB and ISD
Experts of the German company of WSB (one of the leaders in renewable energy in Europe) and experts of ISD began a joint study on wind energy potential in the territory of Ukraine.
The first visit of an engineering team of WSB in Ukraine - a full-scale scientific expedition. Studies have been undertaken of potential sites for the installation of anemometers in Kharkiv, Poltava, Nikolaev, Kherson, Zaporozhye and Dnepropetrovsk regions.

Goal of project "Transparency of financial flows in the coal mining sector in Ukraine" is the creation of effective mechanisms to increase transparency of financial flows in the mining sector in Ukraine, using tools to ensure transparency of the Extractive Industries (EITI).

Today's land market in Ukraine: how much people sell arable land?
Coalition of NGOs "Transparency land", coordinated by Institute of Sustainable Development, held a public monitoring conditions entering the agricultural land market in Ukraine.
The initiative is implemented in the framework of international project "Facilitation of cross-border dialogue to ensure public participation in decision-making land," which is implemented by Institute of Sustainable Development (Ukraine) and Association «Civitas Georgica» (Georgia) with support from Black Sea Trust for Regional Cooperation.

Introduction: The Law of Ukraine "On State Land Cadastre"
Coalition of NGOs "Transparency land" (coordinated by Institute of Sustainable Development) offers a view, so to speak, from within, adopted on July 7, 2011 Law of Ukraine "On State Land Cadastre".
The coalition's new law was accompanied by his project to the public debate and make session hall of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. It should be noted that the provision of transparent and open public land registry is one of the main tasks of the coalition, which operates since 2007. Visit of Director of WSB - the leader of wind energy in Germany
Long-awaited visit of Director of WSB - the leader of wind energy in Germany.
This visit - the beginning of a long-term positive cooperation in the field of alternative energy with German companies. As part of this visit, the participants familiarized themselves with the potential fields for the installation of wind generators in the Kharkiv region, established protocols of intent for further cooperation.
Established in 1997 as a visionary idea of Andreas Dorner and his father Achim Dorner, WSB advanced considerably until today. Not only innovation and courage have always been characteristic for the growth of the group but also realistic forecasts and well considered decisions. Expansion plans will not be implemented until the risk of a new market entrance is calculable and we feel certain that created jobs can be staffed in the long run. This strategy ensured a stable growth of the company and avoided bad planning. Bearing in mind the success of this strategy, we will pursue it in the future.

Visit to the Centre for Energy Efficiency Volma
May 11-15, organized a visit to the Educational-Scientific Complex "International Environmental Park Volma - demonstration area of renewable energy and energy-saving technologies (Belarus).
International Innovative Environmental Park Volma offers visitors an opportunity to get acquainted with the unique combination of advanced energy technologies, advanced information tools of education, national historical and cultural heritage and natural resources of Belarus.
The park is located on the territory of one of the oldest in Belarus gentry estates and is a picturesque, slightly rugged terraces and floodplain of the small river Volmyanka. Since 2001, the estate included in the list of historical and cultural values of the Republic of Belarus declared its cultural and historical monument. Today the manor and its lands belong to the International State A.D. Sakharov Ecological University . Completed training and hotel complex Volma, which will have virtually autonomous energy supply system through the use of environmentally friendly ways to get wind, solar, water and biomass.

International Conference "Strategies for implementing land reform"

Today Ukraine marks Day of Land Surveyor
"Land - the fundamental national wealth that is under special state protection", - the Land Code of Ukraine. One of the most pressing land issues in the field of land relations today is the division of state and municipal property.
Day Land Surveyor - celebrated in Ukraine every year since 2000 on the second Saturday of March. Date established by the Decree of President of Ukraine Leonid Kuchma № 1556/99 of 11 December 1999 on the bottom land surveyor in support of the initiative of the State Committee for Land Resources and Land Surveyors of the Union and Ukraine in light of land reform on the rational use and conservation of land resources.
Development of society at all times was associated with the land, which now remains the primary means to human existence and the source of social wealth.
ISD for this holiday timed meeting with representatives of the land Gosudartsvennogo Agency for Land Resources. Citizens could ask questions that concern them, and get answers and explanations officials.
